Basic Info01: NameDan Newman 02: Position on the teamTexture & Concept Artist 03: BiographyCurrent Residence: Massachusetts, USA. Providence College: B.S. in Biology, Minoring in Digital Imaging Interview04: What are your tasks on the team?I do texture work for several of the ships and space-stations. 05: Why did you join the ES crew?I wanted to see if they were crazy enough to hire me...sadly, they were. 06: What did you do prior to your work on ES?I did concept-work for a UT2004 Mod called Jurassic Rage. As the years rolled on, the team began to fall apart. In a desperate leap, I jumped ship and ended up here. 07: What do you like most on working on this project? The team is great. They are all very creative and enthusiastic. They give me a lot of room to experiment and design. And of course, space ships + Half-life 2 = Awesome 08: Are there any other mod teams you admire? The Natural Selection Team really have a great thing going. 09: Whats your opinion on mod projects. If anything, do they have an impact on the industry?I give my respect to any mod-team that can get a product finished. So many just try so hard and end up fruitless. As for an impact on the industry, that's hard to say for sure. I do think Mods & Indie games are going to become more and more popular. 10: Where do you see yourself in the future in this industry? Not sure. I think that it would be a great experience to work for a game company. I've often aspired to work at a company like Valve or Maxis, just because they seem like great outlets for creative work. |
